How are you authenticating us from Google, Microsoft or Yahoo?

We use an open protocol called OAuth to do secure authorization in a simple way. This is supported by web, mobile and desktop applications. This protocol is supported by Google, Yahoo and Microsoft. After you authenticate with them, we will get your email information from them. This is the only information we request from them.

Why use OAuth?

Because it is secure and BalaVihar do not have to manage UserId and Password. This way you do not have to remember one more UserId and Password combination.

If I change my password for Google/Microsoft/Yahoo Email? What happens to BalaVihar login?

We do not store your password information on this website. You are actually logging in with Google/Microsoft/Yahoo. So use your new password while logging in. We only request them to authenticate you on behalf of BalaVihar.

I use Non-Google, Non-Microsoft or Non-Yahoo Email ID. How could I login to BalaVihar?

You can use your custom email ID if you register it with Google. Go to Google Sign-Up Page and indicate that you want to use your existing email instead of creating a new google ID.

What information do you ask from Google/Microsoft/Yahoo?

Email ID. Email ID is the way we try to look you up in our database. We do NOT ask for any other information.

When I login via Google/Microsoft/Yahoo, they are asking for some permission, what is this?

The following type of screen may appear depending on the email provider you are using. Please select "Allow/Yes/Agree". This is a one time screen that Google/Microsoft/Yahoo pops up indicating that BalaVihar website is asking your email address. If you select "Deny/No", you will not be able to login. As stated earlier, we will only be getting Email ID from these providers.

Why create this website when we were registering with volunteers at the temple before?

The purpose of this website is to provide a self registering tool for you all.

I am not comfortable using this website, is there an other way to register to BalaVihar?

At this time we do not have other methods to register. As you all know, BalaVihar is run by volunteers. We need to make as little work as possible for them. This website reduces BalaVihar's dependency on volunteers for registration. We are able to register you if there is a real issue using this website. I was registering for my friends kids before. How could I do that on this website?

At this time we do not provide options for registering others. Each family has to register their kids by themselves.

How much is the registration fee?

$250.00 for one child or $500.00 for two or more children from the same family.

I have lost my receipt, how would I register?

Without receipt information you cannot register on this website. Please contact Temple and they should be able to provide you with receipt number.

When I try to pay on Temple website, it asks for our family information, can't you not share information from/with them? Do I need to re-enter?

Temple and BalaVihar uses two different systems. There is no link between the two systems. So you have to enter family information on both the systems.
